Walktober Information
Walktober 2011 was another tremendous success! We are pleased to report record attendance figures once again, cooperative weather (until Winter Storm Alfred), and positive comments/feedback from participants. This successful annual event, now embarking on its 22nd year, would not be possible without the combined efforts and support from local individuals and organizations throughout The Last Green Valley.
We invite you to participate in the 22nd Annual Walktober in 2012. Please click here for the Walktober 2012 Registration/Proposal Form and remember to limit your walk, hike, paddle, or bike ride to just two offerings during the month and please consider revamping past offerings to provide a fresh perspective. Plus, consider providing your walk, etc. during the week. Many retired and home-school groups prefer the week days to the weekends.
We are also looking for Walktober Committee Members to attend just one brief meeting per month from January 2012 - September 2012, with a wrap-up meeting in November. If you are interested in becoming a Walktober Committee Member, please email Michelle@tlgv.org. The one hour meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month, starting with Monday, February 13th, at 10 a.m. at the TLGV Offices in Danielson. The deadline for listing walks, paddles, bike rides and events in the 2012 Walktober brochure is April 1, 2012.
