Curriculums, Lesson Plans, and Activities

Welcome educators! With your many varied responsibilities as a teacher, we understand how hard you work to educate the children within The Last Green Valley. We at The Last Green Valley are pleased to offer resources that can complement your curriculums while supporting an educational venture that connects students with place. We understand that students have a natural desire to learn about the places around them, the places they live within, the communities they call home. The possibilities are endless for incorporating more place-based education into your current curriculum that not only adheres to state standards and requirements, but meets these goals and objectives on a deeply personal level.

You will find how curious students are to learn that Benedict Arnold may have grown up or went to school in their hometown, or that the diversity of landscape within our region supports everything from moose to bobcat to great blue herons. From the rivers that ran our mills, to the trees that have reforested our lands, so many educational opportunities are provided by the story of this land, the story of this place. And even if you are not originally from this area, there are so many people and resources within The Last Green Valley that support the education of our children about this region, and their place within it.

We are honored to work with our area schools to help preserve and protect The Last Green Valley. We know that through education, we can give our students a perspective of where they have come from, where they are now, and where they may be going. We welcome your feedback on the curriculum pieces and activities listed below and invite educators to share lesson plans and activities that celebrate and honor the story of this region. Documents may be emailed to mail@tlgv.org. Please check back periodically for updates and new postings.
